Revacha (Welfare)

Rehabilitative Day Care Law for children who must stay home:

The High Court was petitioned regarding this matter and determined that in cases where a child is entitled to but cannot go to a day rehab center, the center must come to his/her house. The child is entitled to a maximum of 8 hrs/day of assistance. Oftentimes, social workers do not know the law and a letter is required to explain that it is detrimental for a child not to participate in pre-school (gan) and that the rehab center is mandated to meet with the child.

Children over age 3 who cannot go to school are entitled to have a teacher/caregiver come to their homes for up to 12 hours per week.

In Bnei Brak assistance is provided through Ezer M'Zion, and in other places it is through the Human Resources Department (Ko'ach Adam). It is difficult to find someone to come continuously because of the difficulty of servicing only one child.

You can also request from Revacha (Welfare) drugs and special foods not included in the government list of approved medical treatments. [It will still cost ₪400 per month].

Project "Relief" – this program helps find accommodations for children with another family who will take care of him/her. The family will receive ₪150 per night from Revacha (Welfare) supplemented by a ₪120 for five nights paid by the child’s parents. If your child is on a respirator you may be able to have the cost covered by health insurance. The Clalit Fund fully subsidizes everything and Maccabi only partially subsidizes the cost.
