Side Effects

Several of the common side effects experienced by patients when on medications for pulmonary hypertension include:

  • Headaches caused by vasodilation. This usually disappears after a few weeks.
  • Redness of the face due to various drugs which dilate the blood vessels.
  • Remodulin administered through the abdomen can cause pain at the injection site, but often disappears after a few hours

It is important that you notify your doctor of any side effects, including the above mentioned, and you should consult with other patients receiving the same drug about how they cope with its side effects. No one approach is a perfect fit for all patients.

You can also contact us and we will help you connect you with other patients - after receiving their permission – for mutual support in coping with the disease.
